Chris Martise shared this with me and I wanted to be sure to share it with everyone here as well. Close to home, cheap, etc. STLRallyx is back apparently!
Hi everyone,
We have a RallyX date and location! It will be April 13 at the Salem site South of town. This will be a co-region event, with competitors from the Ozark Mountain Region and the St. Louis Region. PLEASE spread the word about it. This looks like a ton of fun. We need workers as well and people to step up and chair future events.
This email is from Jim Rowland,
“Apologies about the late notice, but this afternoon I got confirmation from the son of the site owner in Salem, MO, that the April 13 RallyCross is a go. The venue is the same used by STLSCCA in the past, belonging to the father of Dustin Privett.
My aim is to trial an inter-regional RallyCross and promote the program in OMR, STL, and everywhere in between. Any STLSCCA presence at this event will be key to its success, so please share with your attendees this evening at your meeting. I think we can pull off a solid event among combined participation from Springfield, Salem, and St. Louis areas.
Right now I have approval from OMRSCCA to use their equipment and sanction under their region. I volunteered to transport the cones, timing equipment, and other materials with my truck - it's on my way from Arkansas. I will put together a sanction request with myself as primary RXSS so that all bases are covered. Obviously, any financial benefit or loss would lie with OMR as the control point. I'm willing to brainstorm other arrangements, though. If anyone has any ideas for improvements, consider this a "sandbox" for good ideas.
I can drive up the evening before if any SCCA members from your area are interested in getting RallyCross Safety Steward training. We typically require a couple of RallyCross events as a safety steward apprentice to get the RXSS endorsement, but someone with a good body of experience in the club (previous SSS or event organizer) who shows a proficient grasp of RX-specific safety issues could likely be fast-tracked to only one event. If STLSCCA needs RXSS, put out the call for some volunteers and I can make that happen.”
Thanks,
Jim Rowland
