So, my engine's toast. I'm currently planning on a lightly built engine from VMS. Sean recommended weisco pistons, plus the standard STI crank and rods. I'd like this motor to last for a long time, so I'm thinking more stock-ish parts than racecar parts right now.
After my bank account recovers, I'll probably look into an 18G or a 20G -ish sized setup. Aim for a safe 350 whp/350 wtq or so to save the transmission for as long as possible.
Thoughts on the build?

Stock or first overbore depending on if we get a new shortblock case or reuse mine, probably.

Manley makes A and B bore forged pistons FWIW

A or B won't matter if the cylinder walls are damaged. I'd definitely do stock size, whether it's A or B, you want the meat on the cylinder walls.

What I meant is: That if the walls are good I would get the Manley A and B's instead of a "standard" forged piston that is going to fit looser and slap a little

I think right now the official recommendation from Sean is a new shortblock with Weisco pistons. I'm inclined to do that just because I've had a bad habit of asking his advice and doing the opposite for the last year. Obviously it has not gotten me to a good place.
FWIW, I don't ever plan on making more than 300-350 whp / 350 wtq in this car. Honestly I could run another stock block with a good tune.
