For those racing, you all should probably read those this just to be aware of everything: www.polepositionraceway.com/faq/
Key points that I picked out: Closed toe shoes, You can bring your own helmet, no 2 seat karts...read the FAQ for all the deets
Also, I got an email from Pole Position last night just confirming our reservation blah blah blah
The email did say that we need to be there 20 minutes prior to event time (so 1:40PM, it wouldn't hurt to get there earlier either)
Racing Slots:
2:00PM
2:20PM
2:40PM
Sound like we should be finished racing at about 3PM.

UPDATE 2/23/14
Okie dokie. I just talked to Pole Position and here's how it's going to work:
Option 1 -- "Pole Position" $45.00 per person, 1 qualifying lap and 1 race lap
Option 2 -- "Grand Prix" $60.00 per person, 1 practice lap, 1 qualifying lap, 1 race lap
Option 3 -- "Super Pole" $75.00 per person, 2 practice laps, 1 qualifying, and 1 race lap
I think option 2 was preferred by most when we talked about this recently. They HIGHLY suggested making a reservation, otherwise we risk meeting there and then waiting hours to actually race. SO in order to make a reservation we have to have a CONFIRMED # of people that want to race AND half of the money up front. They can only do 12 people on the track at a time and so any more than that they will more than likely have to split up the group.
So time is running out on us. If you are definitely IN you need to Speak Up ASAP and figure out how to get yourself paid up. If you have a '$' by your name, that means you're paid up and you're good and definitely in the head count. If not, then you voiced interest but you aren't paid up and aren't in the final head count for the meet. You would just need to have HALF the money so we can get this reservation set.
The meet time we are going to shoot for is 2PM on March 8th. If there are any questions let me know.
Some of us talked about having a meet over at Pole Position (www.polepositionraceway.com/st-louis/). I personally have never been there but have heard great things. If we were to get a large enough group together we might even be able to get a discounted rate. Thoughts?
If you haven't heard of it here are some details.
Pole Position Raceway offers several racing options. The most-popular racing format is our Arrive & Drive program that allows customers to show up individually or in small groups and race in standard races. These races last approximately 10 minutes and drivers are separated into two categories. In addition to the adult karts (56" minimum height required) we have kid's karts for racers who are at least 48" tall and can safely drive. We also offer group events and party packages that provide private racing and reserved time slots. These packages are available in two, three and four-race formats and include items to make the occasion extra special. For larger groups Pole Position Raceway also offers full facility rentals. This has become a popular option for corporate team building events, company parties, new product launches, family reunions, and groups who want completely private racing. Additionally, full facility rentals provide guests with the opportunity to run different race formats such as Ironman, Team Endurance or Elimination races. We also have special monthly events that are open to the public. The events include Ironman Races, Team Endurance Races, Youth Racing Camps and Driving Clinics. Drivers are separated into 4 categories based on size and ability.
