So I noticed today that my car was sitting at ~600 rpms once it was fully warmed up. It's not feeling like it will stall but it's real quiet and I almost have to give it a little extra gas to get it going. At the same time, my car wouldn't start on the first try yesterday. It turned over a few times but wouldn't engage. It started like normal on the 2nd try. In addition on the first day it was -10 degrees outside, I went to lock the car with the fob and the horn honk was extremely weak and quiet. I did it again and it was normal. I just got a new battery this morning and it had trouble starting again on the first try same as before but turned over like normal on the 2nd try.
Anyone ever had these problems?

After replacing the battery your car has to "relearn" your fuel trims and what not so it will run like crap and/or idle like crap the first few minutes (up to 10 minutes) and will definitely not start the first time or at least will take 5 seconds or so of cranking before it starts. The way around letting it crank after replacing the battery or flashing your ECU is to turn the key (don't turn it over) and listen for 3 "clicks" of the relays. Typically heard on the passenger side of the dash. It should be one, two, (pause for a couple seconds) then the third relay click. If it's still running like crap after a 10-20 miles of driving then you have something else going on. Sounds like you fixed the starting issue by replacing the battery and now your car just needs time to learn fuel trims. Aside from that start checking the basics (vacuum leaks, cracked/popped hose(s)) or even check to see that your alternator is pumping out 13+ volts.

Yeah I think it might just be one of the more basic things after reading online a little. It started fine 4 different times since yesterday on the first try but it's still at about 500-600 rpms at idle. I'm taking it in Thursday to have Subaru do a little maintenance on it since it's still under warranty. Thanks for the advice though.
