hey guys, when i picked up my 05 WRX in August, the previous owner gave me an extra complete 5 speed driveline (trans, cross members, a kartboy short throw shifter, center and rear diff, 4 cv axels and drive shaft).
What is a complete driveline worth? ive looked on craigslist and a few other subi sites for estimate prices.
everything has 80K on it. the previous owner said the center diff bearing should be replaced before using. I like the idea of having extra parts but I have the feeling its going to be taking up room and just collecting dust.
thanks for any input.

Does this mean your WRX has a 6 speed swap or you just have an extra 5 speed lying around? if so I would sell it and keep the money for a 6 speed swap in case you ever blow yours up

Could probably sell for ~$1500 if you're patient. Expect to be haggled down on nasioc from your asking price, though.
It's worth keeping if you're going to autocross in stock/street, street touring, or street prepared. The 02-07 5spd regularly blows up from doing a launch to start the course, and you have to run the 5spd in stock/street and street touring if you own a WRX. In street prepared, the 02-07 WRX will probably be on the same line as the STI next year (parts can be swapped between the two, according to some rules), so the ideal combination for course times is going to be the STI engine with the 5spd gearing and weight.
The ideal combination for overall reliability will always be the 6spd, though, so if you're not big into replacing transmissions every year, I'd sell it and start saving for a 6spd swap. Or you could save up for built gears, e.g. PPG gears.
EDIT: I wouldn't recommend offering to ship, btw. It's a PITA for transmissions if you can't pull in a favor with the dock workers at your job.

i don't think I'll ever auto cross my wrx. its more like a street toy for me until i can get the LS v8 installed into my blazer. i'd loce to do a 6 speed swap and ive done some searching and they average around $2500 used.
I'm the shipping supervisor at my job so i can work up a shipping deal.

Well, shit! I'm coming to you the next time I have a shipping question, lol. Sounds like a plan. besthaticouldo recently did a 6 speed swap, you might try to pick his brain.

Ive bought 2 transmissions with just about the same mileage on them. I paid $800 for one and $750 for the other, keep in mind this was 2-3 years ago and it was just the transmissions themselves no extras.
