I posted this question on stlsubaru but didnt get much of a response so i figured id post it here. I am looking to buy or fabricate a light bar similar to the rallyinnovations bar and was wondering if anyone has installed one or made your own? How hard was it to install? i am a little worried that trying to take off the stock bolts on the car where the bar mounts will result in breaking the bolt, i guess i would have to drill it out and tap the hole. pictures would be awesome!

I'm having trouble finding an install guide, and my Google-fu is tired, lol. But I've drilled out and tapped new threads before (though not on a car). So if I'm there when you do it, I can help.
You'd want to price check a bolt extractor (as I have no idea where ours went after the move) and the appropriate drill, tap, and new bolt. Might be able to rent some of that, can't remember.
I also think you might be surprised what bolts don't break if you use plenty of PB blaster. I only broke one bolt off on my old '88 Nissan that spent most its life in the Midwest.

Regardless there's plenty of people willing to lend a hand at any install day. It it can't wait for an install day, or you need help outside of that timeframe say the word and we'll all do what we can to help you out.

Hey well I appreciate that man, I'll let you all know what happens. Being a college student I don't have much money but this has been something I've been looking at for a long time and will probably end up buying it soon. I just need a little liquid courage in me and I'll rationalize buying it because it looks sweet!

Not to make the decision harder for you, but make sure you look at the Primitive Racing and Gorilla Offroad light bars as well. If you go with the Gorilla option, you have a sweet skidplate upgrade path in the future.

I have the primitive racing skidplate. Oil changes are easier than with the stock piece of plastic crap. Three bolts and the skidplate's off and i'm pulling the oil drain plug.
