I'm looking at getting a set of 17x8 wheels for my car but I don't know what offset to go with. I can raise the car up and I'm thinking I might have to do a moderate roll of the fenders too.
I just need to know how to figure out what offset to go with so I'm not hitting my strut.
Thanks!

My enkei rally wheels are sti offset and they are +49 offset, which will fit the rs. I think +48 is the standard Subaru offset, I think you can go to +40 with out rolling fenders

I did a little bit of research and the offset for the stock rs wheels are +53 offset.
But I found a website that if I punch in the numbers will tell me how much the tire moves from one side to another

That looks awesome, and even more so since I see no stretched tires in this pic.

Omar- you had to cut the wheel well, then weld the under fender back up correct?

17x8 with 225/45/17 will require a fender rolling. Its hard to find, but if you can get closer to +53 the better. The only downside to owning an RS, and not wanting to cut your fenders off. So, to answer your question, I dont think Ive seen 17x8 with more than +53, any more, and you may rub the strut, but Ive never seen that much offset.

Derrick- I would need flares or wide body and they would rub on everything!
Joellg- how big of a spacer could I go safely on stock lug studs

I have 225/45/17s on 17x7s and I don't rub on my RS.
Keep in mind that if you ever want to autocross, Street Touring rules state a maximum of 7.5" wheel width. You wouldn't want to end up in SM over .5" of wheel width.

Omar- you had to cut the wheel well, then weld the under fender back up correct? Correct... also those were 275s or 285s... Don't remember at the time of that pic
