I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this question, but I'm wondering if any of the local Subaru Stealerships are at all or in any way "mod friendly"
What I mean is that I may or may not want to take my car in for some possible warranty work...but I don't want them to make a big deal of the light modding I've done. I can take it back to stock if I have to, but I was hoping there would be a dealership that is kind of "ok" with mods on the car.
BTW, before it even starts, I'm not looking for other shops to take the car. I'm only talking about SUBARU dealership service centers.
Nothing is actually "wrong" with the car, I'm just hearing some noises that I think might be the common throw out bearing noise these cars have and a lot of people have gotten them replaced under warranty. Other people have taken the car in for the throw out bearing noise and they end up replacing the entire clutch assembly along with it. I'm just wanting to make sure that if something's gonna go out, I'd rather have the dealership look at it while I'm still in the warranty period. I don't beat on the car, so my clutch should be fine, but all this info has got me wanting to check into it.
Thanks!

I feel that it's very difficult to answer this question, especially since a lot of us either do work ourselves or have a local shop (non dealer) do the work. I have heard good and bad things about all the local dealers with regards to modification & warranty work.
Someone suggested to me that Lou Fusz of St Peters is one that you may find some good luck with regarding light modding and a dealer "looking past it" so to speak. Not specific to your situation, just a general suggestion.
I know, that was uber helpful. Sorry man.

An old roommate had an 08 STI that blew 3 engines due to cracked ringlands running a Cobb map. He had all 3 engines done at Dean with no looking into the tune. No questions asked type of deal with it. You can always call ahead to be safe. Usually most dealerships look the other way unless the mods are the direct cause of the warranty work. But this is coming from some one that has only 2nd hand dealt with Subaru dealerships, I have never owned a showroom new Subaru.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but this site was recommended to me by Tony Wright at Dean Team Subaru in Ballwin where I purchased my BRZ. Not sure if he is the same Tony mentioned above or not.

Different Tony. cmartise, velostard, and I went to school with him. Speaking of, he's looking at a Forester XT... I knew he'd come back to the family, lol. Tony Wright's a good guy. Glad he pointed you this way.
