Just came across this company. Not sure if I'm just behind or what but this company has a pretty nice following. Anyway, just thought I'd share for those doing engine builds or other builds that could use some friction reduction. The company basically does some kind of media blasting to metal surfaces that in turn reduce friction on the treated surface. The video shows what it can do and the website has a better explanation with FAQ's and what not that will do a better job than I can at explaining. Regardless, this process seems really great for performance builds or even daily drivers that are being rebuilt and you want more reliability. Looks like the process is great for anything needing a frictionless mating surface. I.e. cylinder walls, pistons, bearings (journal, roller, or ball), transmission components, gear surfaces, the list goes on. I sound like a saleperson I know, but this really caught my attention and hope it does what they say it can do. Here's to MOAR POWAA!!! Website Link: WPC Metal TreatmentVideo Link:

/me puts on his dubious engineer glasses and watches the video.

I'm a little surprised -- a cursory read-though of their website, and I think the science is sound. Not sure the cost:performance ratio is worth it, but I could definitely see improvements in friction (especially from the micro "oil wells"), and it's well known that shot peening-like processes increase fatigue life in metals.

Didn't see any costs on this yet though. You find pricing? All I could find was where to get signed up for a quote.

This would have to make a huge difference if used on pistons and cylinder walls, hell the whole motor. I wonder what the cost would be.
