The Snow Cruise at the beginning of the year was a blast, but we still need to get our regular cruise in for January, and I've been itching to drive some fun roads again. Backroads....Nope, I'm set on hitting those IL roads again. St. Charles to Golden Eagle to Brussels, past Pere Marquette, through Hardin, and all the way back down to Golden Eagle. Yep, the Ferry system will be used. Yep, we're going to hit that roller coaster hill and the Enchanted Forest.
We've looked ahead and the weather looks just fine, cold, but no rain and no snow. It's going to take place on Sunday Jan 19th. Earlier start is always good on this cruise so we are going to MEET at 10:30AM and DEPART AT 11:00
MotoMart
3750 New Town Blvd
St Charles, MO
1. Here's the route we will be taking from MotoMart to the Golden Eagle Ferry: goo.gl/maps/E8RTG
--The Golden Eagle Ferry IS a toll Ferry. If you are following the full route you will need to purchase a "Round Trip" pass = $15.00 in CASH.
2. Here is the route from the Golden Eagle Ferry to the Brussels Ferry: goo.gl/maps/UkO3H
3. Here's the route from the Brussels Ferry, to Pere Marquette, all the way back to the Golden Eagle Ferry: goo.gl/maps/PyfKN
Some notes about this cruise.
--DISTANCE DISTANCE DISTANCE BETWEEN CARS. For real. There are a lot of blind corners and narrow roads. The last thing we want is someone to have an accident.
--Some of these roads are a bit technical, so please please go over the route map. It also wouldn't hurt to have a passenger in your car that has a copy of the route as well.
--The ferry entrance is something. Angle of the ramp greatly depends on the water level. In the past we have advised those that are low low riders. Some people who have been on cruises to IL before can speak as to lowered heights and what not. Along with that, some of these roads are.....not in the best condition. Keep that in mind as well.
--This cruise involves just over 2 hrs of seat time. Keep that in mind before we leave the gas station, lol.
As with all of our cruises, shenanigans or doing something "stupid" will not be tolerated. Just use your head.
If there are any questions about the route please let me know before we start driving.
BTW, MotorMart does have 93 octane for those of us in need.
If you have a walkie talkie, it definitely wouldn't hurt to bring it as some areas do have little to no cell service.

Bringing back our usual tradition, following the cruise we will have an install day if anyone needs it back at my place. Yea, it'll be cold, so I doubt you'll want to work out in the driveway, but that's why we have the garage and heater. BAM. If you've got something to work on and have been wanting some assistance this is usually the perfect time. We have quite a few knowledgeable members 'round these parts.
